The short answer

Yext wins on data. Uberall wins on engagement and measurement. Yext gives you a Knowledge Graph, a larger publisher network with automatic duplicate suppression, entity and locator pages generated from that data, and real governance. Uberall gives you richer listings with video and calls to action, AI assisted review replies, live chat and chatbots, and a Location Performance Score with a Revenue Estimator.

Pick Yext when

  • Inconsistent information across many surfaces is the risk you are paying to remove
  • You need indexable entity and locator pages generated from your data
  • You need approval chains, audit trails and multi language governance
  • You are a regulated or global brand with thousands of locations

Pick Uberall when

  • The risk is locations quietly underperforming and nobody noticing
  • You want a per location score a regional manager can be held to
  • Customers message you through listings and you want to answer
  • Your footprint is European and directory relationships matter
Scored across 16 categories below: GBPPromote 10, Yext 4, Uberall 2. Yext keeps the categories built on data breadth and governance. Uberall keeps live messaging and revenue measurement. GBPPromote takes the categories about actually doing the work, 6 of which the enterprise platforms do not offer at all, plus 3 where all 3 have the feature and only 1 includes it.

Neither Yext nor Uberall is Google first, and both are quote only. If most of your local demand arrives through Google Maps and Search, GBPPromote does that job at a published $16 for 1 location, $37 flat for 2 to 7 and $5.33 per location from 8 up, with no sales call and a 3 day free trial.

Yext vs Uberall: what are the key differences?

3 differences actually decide the purchase. Yext models your data centrally and distributes it more widely. Uberall measures what each location produces. And Yext turns that data into pages, while Uberall turns it into conversations.

A useful way to decide: ask which sentence you would rather never hear again.

“Our hours are wrong on 3 directories and a customer turned up to a closed store” points to Yext.

“Branch 31 has been invisible for 2 quarters and nobody flagged it” points to Uberall.

“We are paying enterprise money to be good at Google” points somewhere else entirely, which is the third column in every table below.

Yext explained

Yext digital presence platform dashboard
Yext is built around the Knowledge Graph, a central database of every fact about your brand.

Yext is the structured data and governance platform, best for enterprises where accuracy at scale is the requirement. The Knowledge Graph holds every fact about your brand and pushes it to a stated 175 or more publisher network in real time. That architecture is the product. Because the data is modelled rather than just stored, Yext can also generate entity pages, power natural language search on your own site, and enforce who is allowed to change what.

The trade is effort. The Knowledge Graph rewards you for modelling your data properly and gives you comparatively little until you have. Teams that treat Yext as a listings tool tend to conclude it is expensive. Teams that treat it as an infrastructure project tend to get their money’s worth.

Where Yext is strong

  • The widest publisher network in the category, with duplicate suppression
  • Knowledge Graph as a single source of truth
  • SEO entity and locator pages generated from the data
  • Yext Search, AI answers on your own site. Nothing else matches it
  • Genuine enterprise governance, roles, approvals and audit trails
  • Strong fit for regulated and global brands

Where Yext falls short

  • Quote only, premium pricing, no public rate card
  • Knowledge Graph setup is a real project, usually a quarter
  • Listings can revert if the licence lapses
  • Overkill below roughly 50 locations
  • No geo-grid rank tracking of any kind
  • No review request module worth the name

Pricing: quote based. Small business packages have been reported from around $199 a year, with enterprise priced by entity and module. See the full list of Yext alternatives and what each costs.

Uberall explained

Uberall CoreX local marketing dashboard
CoreX puts listings, reviews, social and messaging in 1 place, oriented around outcomes.

Uberall is the engagement and location performance platform, best for consumer brands measuring what each location produces. Listings carry rich media, short video and call to action links, rather than just correct data. Reviews come with AI assisted replies built for volume. The Messages module adds live agents and AI chatbots so a listing can start an actual conversation.

The distinguishing feature is measurement. The Location Performance Score grades each location, and the Revenue Estimator models what visibility is worth in visits and revenue. That is the number a regional manager can be held to, and it is why Uberall lands well with retail, restaurant and automotive groups.

Where Uberall is strong

  • Engagement tooling Yext does not have, including live chat and chatbots
  • Ties local visibility to revenue with the Revenue Estimator
  • Listings with short video and call to action links
  • Marketing teams can act in it on day 1, with no data project first
  • Strong European coverage

Where Uberall falls short

  • Quote only pricing, no public rate
  • Smaller publisher network than Yext
  • Mapping your own metrics to the score takes work
  • Value concentrates at multi-location scale
  • No geo-grid rank tracking
  • Local pages and store locator sit behind an add-on

Pricing: quote based, packaged by locations across Show Up, Stand Out and Connect tiers, plus add-ons. See Uberall alternatives compared on price and coverage.

The third option: a Google first alternative to both

GBPPromote all-in-one local SEO platform dashboard

Here is the awkward question neither vendor’s sales deck answers. How much of your local discovery actually happens outside Google? For most multi-location businesses the honest answer is a small fraction. Yext and Uberall both charge for breadth across hundreds of surfaces, and that breadth is real, but if your customers find you on Google Maps and Google Search you are funding reach you never audit.

GBPPromote takes the opposite position. It does the Google job properly and prices it openly: $16 for 1 location, $37 flat for 2 to 7, and $5.33 per location from 8 up. Every feature included at every location count, no annual contract, no sales process. What that buys is the work rather than the reporting: one-click profile optimization, automated posting, AI review replies with template rotation, and geo-grid rank scans showing where every branch actually sits on the map.

That last one is worth pausing on. Neither Yext nor Uberall does geo-grid rank tracking. Uberall scores location performance and Yext reports on listings, but neither tells you that your Airport Road branch ranks 3rd at the mall and 11th 4 miles north. For anyone competing in the map pack, that is the number that matters, because Google weighs relevance, distance and prominence per search, as set out in its official guidance on improving your local ranking. Distance changes with the searcher, which is exactly what a single average hides.

What you get at every location count

Where it does not compete

  • Nothing like the Yext publisher breadth
  • No on-site AI search
  • No live chat or AI chatbot module
  • Not the tool for a regulated global brand
  • No revenue estimation model

Head to head across 16 categories

Scored across 16 categories, GBPPromote takes 10, Yext takes 4 and Uberall takes 2.

ScorecardCategories wonWhere it wins
GBPPromote10 of 16Execution and inclusion: location pages, store locator, reviews, requests, posting, optimization, rank tracking, competitor data, white label, ease of use and price
Yext4 of 16Data: publisher breadth, on-site search, governance, brand enforcement
Uberall2 of 16Engagement: live messaging, per location revenue measurement

Yext and Uberall win the categories they were built for, and this page does not pretend otherwise. GBPPromote wins on breadth of execution rather than depth of infrastructure.

CategoryWinnerWhy
1. Listings and publisher networkYextStated 175 or more publishers, real time sync, automatic duplicate suppression. The widest distribution available and not close
2. Individual location pagesGBPPromoteYext has the deepest implementation but only inside an enterprise licence, and Uberall sells pages as a paid add-on. AI location pages are included here with no tier to reach
3. Store locatorGBPPromoteAll 3 have one. Only 1 does not gate it behind a licence or an add-on
4. On-site AI searchYextYext Search answers natural language questions on your own domain from structured data. Genuinely unmatched
5. Review replies and reputationGBPPromoteAI replies with a custom prompt you write and template rotation so 40 replies never read identically. Neither rival has rotation
6. Review collectionGBPPromote4 channels, SMS, WhatsApp, email and QR, triggered when a job completes. Volume and recency move a profile more than replies do
7. Messaging and live engagementUberallCoreX Messages with live agents and AI chatbots. The clearest single advantage Uberall holds
8. Profile automation and optimizationGBPPromoteYext will tell you the profile is incomplete but will not complete it. This is the category the other 2 structurally do not compete in
9. Competitor intelligenceGBPPromoteNeither rival offers it. Change tracking shows what moved on rival profiles, not just their position
10. Map pack rank trackingGBPPromoteScheduled weekly geo-grid scans per location per keyword. Neither rival reports map position at all
11. Performance and revenue measurementUberallLocation Performance Score plus Revenue Estimator. A number you can manage a region against
12. Governance and complianceYextRoles, approvals, audit trails and multi language. Built for regulated and global brands
13. Brand consistencyYextPrevents drift structurally, because a location cannot deviate without permission. GBPPromote detects drift rather than preventing it
14. Agency and white labelGBPPromoteFully white label dashboards and reports as standard, with a published per location cost so margin is calculable before you sign
15. Ease of use and time to valueGBPPromoteSign in with Google, select locations, and the first audit and rank scan run on their own. Same day, not same quarter
16. Pricing transparencyGBPPromotePublished from $16 a month. The only figure in this comparison you can budget from today
Six of the 10 GBPPromote wins are categories where Yext and Uberall offer nothing comparable rather than something weaker. The other 4, location pages, store locator, white label and price, are cases where all 3 vendors have the capability and only 1 includes it without an add-on or an enterprise licence.

How do the AI capabilities compare?

They point in opposite directions. Uberall applies AI at the point of customer contact. Yext applies AI to retrieval and structure. Neither automates Google profile execution end to end.

AI capabilityYextUberallGBPPromote
AI review repliesAssisted draftingYes, AI assisted at volumeCustom prompt plus rotation

AI visibility trackingNoNoYes, across 6 engines

The gap worth noting is the bottom 2 rows. Local discovery is increasingly happening inside AI answers rather than on a results page, and neither enterprise platform currently tracks whether your business gets named in them. The AI visibility checker and the MCP connector cover both.

Location pages and store locators compared

Separate the 2 jobs first. All 3 vendors offer individual location pages and a store locator. The difference is not capability, it is packaging. Yext bundles both into an enterprise licence, Uberall puts them behind the Local Pages add-on, and GBPPromote includes both in the base per location price.

Individual location pages are an SEO asset: a page per branch, indexable, competing in organic search, with its own hours, services and schema. Yext generates these from the Knowledge Graph, and at several thousand locations with multi language requirements it is genuinely the deepest implementation available.

A store locator is a conversion tool: 1 map on your existing site helping a visitor find and route to the nearest branch. All 3 platforms have one.

The word locator gets used for 2 very different products, and conflating them is how brands end up overspending here.

Rule of thumb. If you need thousands of pages in multiple languages driven off a governed data model, that is Yext and the licence is the price of it. If you need a page per location plus a find-a-branch map that stay accurate as your profiles change, GBPPromote includes both in the base price. Buying an enterprise data platform for the second job is the most common overspend in this category.

Yext vs Uberall pricing: which offers better value?

Neither publishes a rate. Both are quote based, both typically want an annual commitment, and comparing them properly requires 2 sales calls. That is the honest answer to the pricing question.

Yext and Uberall figures and tier names come from publicly available information, are approximate and change. Confirm on each vendor’s site before budgeting.

Run the arithmetic on your own location count before either sales call. At 50 locations, GBPPromote is about $3,198 a year. Ask each vendor what 50 locations costs and you will have the comparison that matters, and you will be having that conversation from a position of knowing the floor.

The question to ask yourself first: what proportion of your local discovery happens outside Google? If it is small, most of what you would pay Yext or Uberall for is breadth you will not use.

What happens if you switch between them?

Moving between Yext and Uberall is not equally risky in both directions. Leaving Yext can cost you listings. Leaving Uberall costs you measurement continuity.

Yext to Uberall: higher risk

  • Listing reversion is the real danger. Yext holds many listings through live API connections. When the licence lapses, those listings can revert to whatever the publisher held before, not to your current data
  • Export everything before you give notice, and confirm which listings were claimed permanently versus synced through Yext
  • Overlap both contracts for at least 1 full billing cycle. Do not run a hard cutover
  • You lose Yext generated entity and locator pages. Plan redirects before the pages disappear, or you lose the organic traffic too
  • Yext Search goes with it. If it is embedded in your site, that is a development task, not a settings change

Uberall to Yext: lower risk

  • Listings usually improve. The Yext network is wider and duplicate suppression typically increases coverage
  • What you lose is measurement. The Location Performance Score and Revenue Estimator have no Yext equivalent, so any reporting built on them needs rebuilding from scratch
  • Live chat and chatbots go away. If customers currently message you through a listing, that channel closes
  • Budget for implementation, not just licence. The Knowledge Graph needs your data modelled before it delivers value
  • Expect a slower start. Uberall is usable in week 1. Yext is usually a quarter
Either direction, do this first. Run a free citation check and a NAP consistency check and save the output. That is your before picture. Without it you cannot tell whether a migration improved coverage or quietly broke it, and you will be arguing about it from memory 3 months later.

SOCi vs Uberall vs Yext for franchise marketing

They optimise for 3 different things, so the honest answer is that it depends on which part of franchise marketing is actually broken.

PlatformBuilt aroundFranchise strengthFranchise weakness
SOCiSocial and contentLocalised social publishing, ads and content libraries franchisees can pull fromListings and rank data are secondary
UberallEngagement and measurementPer location scoring so head office can see which franchisees are underperformingGovernance is lighter than a franchise network usually needs
YextData and governanceApproval chains and audit trails so franchisees cannot alter brand critical fieldsCost and setup are heavy for a network of small units
GBPPromoteGoogle profile executionPer franchisee roles, bulk updates across every unit, and geo-grid rank tracking per locationNo social publishing or ads module
In practice most franchise networks are not failing at social or at data governance. They are failing at consistency: hours wrong at 11 units, reviews unanswered at 30, and nobody able to say which franchisee is invisible on the map this month. That is a narrower problem than any of the 3 enterprise platforms is priced for.

If that describes your network, look at GBP management built for franchises.

What about Partoo, Solocal and GetPin?

These come up constantly in European shortlists and almost never in US ones, which tells you most of what you need to know.

PlatformWhere it competesHow it compares
PartooEurope, presence managementCompetes with Uberall more directly than with Yext. Listings, reviews and messaging, with strong French and Southern European coverage
SolocalFrance primarilyPresence and local advertising with deep French directory relationships. Rarely the right answer outside its home market
GetPinEnterprise listings, newer entrantPositions against Yext on price for enterprise listing management. Smaller network and shorter track record
SOCiFranchise social and contentA different category. Compare it to Uberall on engagement, not to Yext on data
BrightLocalMid-market reportingA fraction of the price, strong on agency reporting and audits, far narrower distribution. See BrightLocal compared
Moz LocalSimple listing syncCheap, hands off maintenance with duplicate suppression. Light on everything else. See Moz Local compared

If you are running a European shortlist, Partoo belongs on it alongside Uberall and Yext. If you are US based, the realistic 3 way is Yext, Uberall and whichever cheaper platform covers the part you actually use.

Who should choose what

ChooseIf
YextInconsistent data across many surfaces is a genuine business risk, in regulated industries, global brands or thousands of locations. Or you need indexable entity and locator pages and AI search on your own domain. Budget for the implementation, not just the licence
UberallYour problem is locations underperforming unnoticed, and you want a per location score plus revenue modelling a regional manager can be held to. Also right if customers message you through listings and you want to answer
Partoo or SolocalYour footprint is European and local directory relationships matter more than global breadth
SOCiThe franchise problem you are solving is social publishing and content distribution rather than listings accuracy
GBPPromoteMost of your local demand arrives through Google and what you need is the weekly work done: profiles optimized, posts published, reviews answered and rankings tracked per location, at a price you can see before you talk to anyone

Final verdict: Yext vs Uberall

Scored across 16 categories, GBPPromote takes 10, Yext 4 and Uberall 2. On Yext against Uberall alone the split is clean enough to be useful.

Yext is the enterprise choice when accuracy, governance and page generation are what you are buying. The Knowledge Graph, the widest publisher network, entity and locator pages, and on-site AI search are not matched elsewhere.

Uberall is the choice when engagement and measurement matter more. Richer listings, live chat and chatbots, and a Location Performance Score that connects visibility to revenue.

Both are quote only, both want an annual commitment, and both are priced for breadth across hundreds of surfaces. That breadth is real and for some brands it is exactly right.

For everyone else the question worth asking before either sales call is simpler. How much of your local discovery actually happens outside Google? If the answer is not much, then most of what you are being quoted for is reach you will never audit, and GBPPromote does the Google job properly from $16 a month, including the geo-grid rank tracking neither enterprise platform offers at all.

Start with the free trial. It takes about 5 minutes to connect your locations, the first scan runs on its own, and you will know within a day whether the Google only scope covers what you needed.

Frequently asked questions

What are the key differences between Yext and Uberall?
3 differences decide the purchase. Yext models your data centrally in a Knowledge Graph and syncs it to a larger publisher network with automatic duplicate suppression. Uberall focuses on execution across a broad network with richer listing content such as video and call to action links. And Uberall measures per location performance with a Location Performance Score and Revenue Estimator, which Yext does not offer. In short, Yext for accuracy and governance, Uberall for engagement and measurement.
Which is better for brands with thousands of locations?
Both scale to thousands of locations, so decide by which failure mode costs you more. Choose Yext if inconsistent data across many surfaces is the risk, because duplicate suppression, roles, approvals, audit trails and multi language governance are its strengths. Choose Uberall if the risk is locations underperforming unnoticed, since per location scoring and revenue modelling are its strengths. If those locations compete mainly on Google Maps, GBPPromote covers the profile work at a published flat rate instead of an enterprise licence.
Which offers better pricing, directory coverage and review tools?
Directory coverage goes to Yext on its stated 175 or more publisher network. Review tools go to Uberall for AI assisted replies and faster bulk workflows, though Yext adds sentiment analysis and Google questions and answers sync. Pricing is a tie in the worst sense, because both are quote based with no public rates and neither can be budgeted without a sales call. GBPPromote publishes 16 US dollars for 1 location, 37 flat for 2 to 7 and 5.33 per location from 8 up.
Does Yext or Uberall do geo-grid rank tracking?
Neither offers geo-grid map rank tracking. Yext reports on listings accuracy and Uberall scores location performance, but neither tells you that a branch ranks 3rd at the mall and 11th 4 miles north. For anyone competing in the map pack that is the number that matters, and it is why many brands pair an enterprise platform with a dedicated tracker or use a Google first platform such as GBPPromote instead.
How much do Yext and Uberall cost?
Both are quote based and neither publishes a full price list. Yext small business packages have been reported from around 199 US dollars a year, with enterprise pricing depending on entities and modules. Uberall packages by location count across Show Up, Stand Out and Connect tiers plus add-ons. Comparing them properly requires 2 sales conversations. GBPPromote is published at 16 dollars for 1 location and 5.33 per location from 8 up, with a 3 day free trial and no card.
What happens if I switch from Yext to Uberall?
The main risk is listing reversion. Yext holds many listings through live API connections, so when the licence lapses those listings can revert to whatever the publisher held before rather than your current data. Export everything first, confirm which listings were claimed permanently versus synced through Yext, and overlap both contracts for at least 1 billing cycle. You also lose Yext generated entity and locator pages, so plan redirects before they disappear.
What happens if I switch from Uberall to Yext?
This direction is less risky on listings, since the Yext network is wider and duplicate suppression usually improves coverage. What you lose is measurement continuity, because the Location Performance Score and Revenue Estimator have no Yext equivalent and any reporting built on them needs rebuilding. Expect a real implementation project too, because the Knowledge Graph needs your data modelled before it delivers value.
How do the AI capabilities of Yext and Uberall compare?
They point in opposite directions. Uberall applies AI at the point of customer contact, with AI assisted review replies, chatbots in Messages and content suggestions. Yext applies AI to retrieval and structure, so Yext Search answers natural language questions on your own site from the Knowledge Graph, alongside review sentiment analysis. Neither tracks whether your business gets named inside AI answers.
Which platform is better for location pages and store locators?
All 3 vendors offer both individual location pages and a store locator, so the difference is packaging rather than capability. Yext bundles both into an enterprise licence and has the deepest page implementation, driven off the Knowledge Graph with multi language support. Uberall puts them behind the Local Pages add-on. GBPPromote includes AI location pages and a store locator in the base per location price with nothing to add on.
Which platform handles brand consistency across locations?
Yext enforces it structurally, because the Knowledge Graph is the single source of truth and a location cannot drift unless someone with permission changes the master record. Uberall handles it through workflows, which is lighter. GBPPromote takes a third approach with brand consistency monitoring that scans every location and flags where names, categories, descriptions or attributes have drifted, combined with per location permissions.
Which wins for franchise marketing, SOCi, Uberall or Yext?
They optimise for different things. SOCi is social and content first, built around localised publishing and ads. Uberall is engagement plus listings, strongest at tying visibility to measurable outcomes. Yext is data and governance first, strongest at accuracy at scale. If the franchise automation you need is specifically Google Business Profile work across every franchisee, GBPPromote does that job with franchisee level permissions at a flat per location price.
What are the best alternatives to Yext and Uberall?
In Europe, Partoo and Solocal compete directly with Uberall, and GetPin is a newer enterprise listings entrant. SOCi is the closest option for franchise social and content. For US mid-market, BrightLocal covers reporting and Moz Local covers listing sync cheaply. For businesses whose local demand comes through Google, GBPPromote automates profile management, reviews, geo-grid rank tracking and citations with white label reporting at a published per location price.
The third option most shortlists miss

Enterprise local presence work, without the enterprise licence

Profile automation, AI review replies with template rotation, geo-grid rank tracking per location, citations and white label reporting. Published pricing, no quote, no annual contract, no sales call.

$16 for 1 location, $37 flat for 2 to 7, $5.33 each from 8 up. No card required. Cancel from inside the account at any time

On the pricing. Yext and Uberall are both quote based and change packaging regularly. Tier names and the reported Yext entry figure come from publicly available information, are approximate, and should be confirmed on each vendor’s site before you budget against them.

On the scoring. The 16 categories are our judgement, not a test score, and we build 1 of the 3 platforms compared. Yext and Uberall win 6 categories between them and the reasons are stated in each row. Where GBPPromote does not compete at all, that is stated too: no publisher network on the Yext scale, no on-site AI search, no live chat and no revenue estimation model.
