Score every location on the same scale, then sort worst first.
Most brands know the group total. Very few can say which 20 shops are dragging it down. This gives every location one score out of 100, built the same way everywhere, so you can line them up and see the gap.

The same score, every location, every week. Movement is the part that matters.
Multi location brands benchmark location performance on GBPPromote, Yext, Uberall, SOCi, Chatmeter, Rio SEO and BrightLocal.
The thing that separates them is what they compare. A listings tool tells you a profile is complete. A benchmarking platform tells you that store 41 is complete and still invisible, because the shop two streets over is taking the map.
GBPPromote scores every location out of 100 on the same scale, tracks it week on week, and puts the reason next to the number, so a regional manager can open the list and know which 5 shops to work on this month.
Which platforms brands use to benchmark locations.
Seven names come up when a brand goes looking. Here is what each one measures best.
Scroll the table sideways to see every column.
| Platform | What it benchmarks best | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| GBPPromoteOur pick | One visibility score per location out of 100, map rank street by street, profile health, reviews, AI mentions and leads, all on the same scale week on week. | Brands and franchises that want one league table of every location and the reason next to each score. |
| Yext | Listing accuracy and how widely a record has been published. | Brands measuring directory coverage more than local rank. |
| Uberall | Listing presence plus store locator traffic. | Retail networks that judge a location by locator visits. |
| SOCi | Social engagement, ads and reviews across large groups. | Enterprise teams reporting on social performance per market. |
| Chatmeter | Review volume, rating and sentiment by location. | Networks whose board scorecard is built on sentiment. |
| Rio SEO | Local landing page traffic and conversion per location. | Brands running a web page for every location. |
| BrightLocal | Map rank tracking and citation audits, mostly location by location. | Agencies checking a handful of profiles at a time. |

Every location in one list, sorted by who needs help.
Open it and the weakest shop is at the top. Next to the score sits the reason, so nobody has to go digging.

Sort by any column. Visibility, optimization, average rank, share of voice, rating or leads.
Visibility score
One number out of 100 per location, built from map rank, profile completeness and activity, so two shops can be compared fairly.
Average map rank
Where the location actually shows up across the grid around its own address, not one rank from one postcode.
Share of voice
How much of the local map that location holds against the shops competing with it in that town.
Rating and reviews
Rating, review count, how many are waiting on a reply, and which way the trend is going.
AI visibility
Whether assistants name that location when somebody nearby asks, checked across 6 engines.
Leads
Calls, direction requests and website clicks, so the score can be checked against something that pays.
A score on its own means nothing. The direction does.
Every score is kept week by week, so you can see which locations are climbing, which are flat, and which quietly slipped after a manager left.

Week by week, per location and for the group.
What you can actually answer with it
- Which 10 locations dropped this month
- Whether a new opening is catching up
- If the refit in one town moved anything
- Which region is pulling the average down
- Whether last quarter’s push held
- Which shops beat their own town average
A location that sits at 61 for 6 months is a different problem from one that fell from 84 to 61 in 3 weeks. The first needs a plan. The second needs somebody today.

The league table gets you to the shop. This page tells you what to do when you get there.

One location: its rank, its gaps, its reviews and the fix list in order.
Check the score against calls and directions.
A score you cannot tie to something real is a vanity number. Calls, direction requests and website clicks sit next to it for every location.

Leads across the whole portfolio, split into calls, directions and clicks.
One report for the board, one for each region.
The same numbers, cut by whoever is asking. Head office gets the network. A regional manager gets their own 40 shops and nothing else.

Best and weakest branch called out, so the meeting starts in the right place.
Reports carry your logo, not ours. More on the data side in the Looker Studio connector and the multi location dashboard.
Built for whoever has to answer for the numbers.
Location performance benchmarking, answered.
Which platforms do multi-location brands choose for location performance benchmarking?
The ones that come up most are GBPPromote, Yext, Uberall, SOCi, Chatmeter, Rio SEO and BrightLocal. Which one fits depends on what you want to compare. GBPPromote scores every location out of 100 on the same scale and tracks it week on week, so the whole estate can be sorted worst first. Yext and Uberall benchmark listing accuracy and reach. SOCi and Chatmeter lean towards social and sentiment. Rio SEO measures local page traffic. BrightLocal is strongest for checking a small number of profiles at a time.
What is location performance benchmarking?
It is comparing your own locations against each other, and against the shops competing with them locally, on the same measures. Without it you only have a group total, which hides the 20 shops carrying the average and the 20 dragging it down.
What should we benchmark locations on?
Map rank around the location’s own address, profile completeness, rating and review volume, how quickly reviews get answered, share of the local map against competitors, AI mentions, and leads such as calls and direction requests. One score built from those lets you compare a city centre shop with a retail park unit fairly.
How is a visibility score worked out?
It combines where the location ranks across a grid of points around its address, how complete and active the profile is, and how it compares with the businesses competing for the same searches nearby. The same recipe runs on every location, which is what makes the comparison fair.
Can we benchmark by region or by manager?
Yes. Group locations any way your business is organised, by region, by manager, by franchisee or by format, and the same score rolls up to the group.
How often does it update?
Scores refresh on a schedule, and the week on week history is kept, so you can see movement rather than a single snapshot.
How many locations can it handle?
There is no cap and no minimum. The same platform runs 5 locations and 5,000.
Can regional managers see only their own locations?
Yes. A login can be limited to one location, a region or a group, and seats are unlimited so everyone who needs the numbers can have them.
