What LocalRank.so is

LocalRank.so is software rather than a service. Its own pitch is that it helps local SEO agencies rank clients number 1 on Google in 30 days without hiring, and it says it has more than 500 paying agencies.

The parts are a local rank tracker with 25 pin scans and white label reports, a citations builder that submits to a list of directories, Google Business Profile automation for posts and review replies, a lead search tool that runs on credits, and an AI recommendation monitor that tracks how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answer.

It was co-founded by Peter and Jacky Chou. Plans are sold by location count and by credits rather than per location.

Third party ratings: Not found. LocalRank.so has no G2, Capterra or Trustpilot listing, so there is no independent score to quote.

The main features

Everything below is listed by LocalRank.so on its own site. Where something is promised but not live yet, it says so.

Local rank tracker

25 pin scans with real time updates, scheduled reports, white label reports and share URLs, and scans for service area businesses that have no storefront. This is the part users talk about most.

AI recommendation monitor

Tracks how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answer for a business, which queries trigger a mention, and a visibility percentage. Few tools in this price range cover all 4 models.

Local citations builder

Submissions to a list of vetted directories, 550 plus per location on the published plans, with bulk edit and delete and NAP consistency checking.

Google Business Profile automation

Post scheduling, review responses with templates, insights tracking and a multi location dashboard. Sold on the higher tiers as GBP AI Autopilot.

Local Leads

A contact search tool that runs on credits and returns names, companies, job titles, locations, phone numbers and emails. Pro includes 5,000 lead credits on signup and the higher tiers 50,000.

LLM Citations

Covered in its own section below, because what it does is not obvious from the name.

Review Booster

Also covered below, for the same reason.

White label

Reports and share URLs under your own brand, which is the feature an agency actually buys this for.

2 things to read closely before you buy

Neither of these is hidden. Both are on the vendor’s own pages, in its own words. They are here because they change who this tool is safe for, and they are easy to skim past.

LLM Citations. LocalRank.so describes this as creating SEO optimised listicle articles and publishing them automatically to a network of 550+ domains, indexed in 2 to 4 hours, with the articles written by GPT-4o. In plain terms it places your client inside best of listicles on sites the vendor controls.
Review Booster. The pricing page lists this feature as farm 5 star reviews on autopilot. That is the vendor’s own wording, not ours.

Pros and cons

Good

  • Published pricing for every tier, including the enterprise one
  • Free to start with no card, and a 90 day money back guarantee
  • Rank tracking, citations, GBP automation and AI monitoring in 1 subscription
  • AI recommendation monitoring across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity
  • White label reports and share URLs, which agencies need
  • Unlimited locations from the $497 tier up

Not so good

  • Sold to agencies first, so a single brand pays for tooling it will not use
  • Rank tracking runs on credits, so heavy scanning has a ceiling
  • Two of the headline features need a careful read before you buy them
  • No third party rating anywhere to check it against
  • The jump from $497 to $2,997 is large with little published in between

Who it suits, and who needs more

A local SEO agency with a book of small clients is the buyer this was built for. Rank tracking, citations, GBP automation, lead search and white label reporting in 1 subscription is a genuinely good deal at $297 a month for up to 10 locations, and the free start makes it easy to judge before paying.

The rank tracker on its own is the strongest part. 25 pin scans, scheduled reports and share URLs cover what most agencies need, and service area scans matter for trades with no storefront.

The AI recommendation monitoring is ahead of most of the category. Tracking 4 models rather than 1 is the right call, and it is included rather than being a separate product.

Who needs more than this. A brand that has to be careful. If your business is regulated, has a legal team, or would struggle to explain LLM Citations and Review Booster to a board, this is not the tool. Not because it does not work, but because the 2 features below are the kind of thing you want to have decided on deliberately rather than discovered later.

On the software itself these 2 overlap more than the price difference suggests. Both track local rankings, both automate Google Business Profile work, both watch AI answers. LocalRank.so adds citations at volume and lead search. GBPPromote adds bulk editing across 23 profile fields, permission levels per location and an approval step before anything publishes.

The real split is the approach to reviews and mentions. GBPPromote drafts a reply and waits for a person to approve it. LocalRank.so sells a feature its own pricing page calls farming 5 star reviews on autopilot. Those are different philosophies, and after the FTC rule on consumer reviews took effect in October 2024 the difference is not only a matter of taste. Our review and rating statistics set out what that rule covers.

If you are an agency and your clients are comfortable, LocalRank.so gives you more tools per dollar. If you are a brand, or your clients ask questions, the narrower tool is the safer one.

Final verdict

LocalRank.so is a lot of capable software for the money and it publishes every price, which most of this category will not do. The rank tracker is good, the AI recommendation monitoring across 4 models is ahead of most competitors, and starting free with a 90 day guarantee removes nearly all the risk of trying it.

The reservation is not about quality. It is that 2 of the headline features are built on tactics a cautious brand would not sign off: listicle articles generated by GPT-4o and auto published across a network of 550 plus domains the vendor controls, and a review feature the vendor itself describes as farming 5 star reviews on autopilot. Both are stated openly on their own pages, which is to their credit, and both are easy to skim past.

Recommended for agencies who have read those 2 sections and are comfortable. Not recommended for brands in regulated sectors, or for anyone who would rather their reviews arrived the slow way.

Common questions

Is LocalRank.so worth it?
For an agency, at $297 a month for up to 10 locations, the amount of software you get is hard to beat, and it is free to start. For a single brand it is worth less, because much of what you pay for is agency tooling like lead credits and white label reporting.
How much does LocalRank.so cost?
Starter $57 a month for 1 location, Pro $297 for up to 10, Scale $497 for unlimited locations and Enterprise $2,997. Annual billing brings those to $47.50, $247.50, $372.50 and $1,664.17 a month. There is a free start with no card and a 90 day money back guarantee.
What are LocalRank.so LLM Citations?
In the vendor’s own description, GPT-4o writes listicle articles about your client and they are published automatically across a network of more than 550 domains, indexed within 2 to 4 hours, so AI assistants reading those pages see the client named. It is a mention building tactic on a vendor controlled network. Whether that fits your risk tolerance is the question to answer before you buy.
What is Review Booster?
It is LocalRank.so’s review feature. The wording on its pricing page is farm 5 star reviews on autopilot. We have quoted that directly rather than paraphrasing it, because how reviews are generated matters legally as well as practically.
Does LocalRank.so have a free trial?
You can start free without a card, and there is a 90 day money back guarantee on the paid plans, which is longer than almost anything else in the category.
Is LocalRank.so rated on G2 or Capterra?
Not found. There is no G2, Capterra or Trustpilot listing, so there is no independent score to check it against.
