Local Viking Review 2026: Pricing, Features, Pros and Cons

A specialist’s tool, and better than its reputation suggests. GeoGrid timelapse, spintax posting and Attribute Sentry edit protection. 2 things to know: there is no free trial, and the pricing curve is odd.

Verified August 2026. No star rating is shown on this page and none is in the schema. We build a competing product, so scoring Local Viking out of 5 would be our opinion dressed as data.

Local Viking is a specialist’s tool, and better than its reputation suggests. Alongside GeoGrid tracking it has a timelapse view that replays visibility across a campaign, spintax posting so bulk posts are not identical, daisy chaining, and Attribute Sentry, which is protection against unauthorised edits to your listings. 2 things to know. There is no free trial, so evaluation costs at least a month. And the pricing curve is odd: $39 for 1 listing but $59 for 10.

We build GBPPromote, which competes with Local Viking. Where they win, the table below bolds it, and there are 8 of those rows. There is also 1 row where a claim we make elsewhere on this site does not hold up. It is called out rather than quietly dropped.

What is Local Viking?

Local Viking dashboard showing multi-location Google Business Profile management
Built around managing many profiles at once rather than optimising 1 deeply.

A Google Business Profile management and GeoGrid rank tracking platform built for agencies. Bulk posting, rank visualisation and listing protection across many locations from 1 dashboard.

The design assumption is that you are a practitioner with a lot of listings. Features like spintax, attribute locking and daisy chaining exist because someone managing 40 profiles hits problems a single location owner never encounters, and Local Viking solves those problems specifically.

  • GeoGrid rank tracking with a timelapse view and scheduled scans on Pro and above
  • Traditional keyword rank tracking alongside the grid
  • Bulk post scheduling. Standard, offer and event posts, unlimited on every plan
  • Spintax support. 1 post, many phrasings, so locations do not publish identical text
  • Automatic post daisy chaining and location specific variable substitution
  • Photo and video upload automation with metadata
  • Bulk location management table. Edit and sync many listings at once
  • Attribute Sentry. Protection against malicious and unauthorised edits
  • Location suspension notifications and field and attribute locking
  • Review monitoring, white label reporting and an embeddable GeoGrid widget on Pro and above
What it does not have: citation tools, keyword research, backlink analysis, review request automation or AI review replies. It is a profile specialist layer, not a full local SEO stack, and it is fair to Local Viking to say it has never claimed otherwise.

How Local Viking works: a 6 step walkthrough

Built around bulk work. Connect accounts, load listings, set the grid, schedule posts, protect the listings, report.

Step 1: Connect Google accounts and load listings

Connect the Google accounts holding your profiles. Every plan except Single allows unlimited connected Google accounts, which matters for agencies whose clients each own their own account. That is a constraint which trips up several competitors.

Watch the Single plan. 1 listing, and no unlimited account connections. It is genuinely only for a 1 location business, and at $39 against $59 for 10 listings, it is the worst value plan in the range.

Step 2: Set up the GeoGrid

Place a grid over the service area and track your position for a keyword at each point. Credits are consumed by grid size and scan frequency, and each tier includes a set allocation of keyword and GeoGrid credits.

Pro and above add scheduled GeoGrid scans, which is what turns a one-off snapshot into a trend line you can show a client.

Step 3: Schedule posts in bulk, with spintax

Create standard, offer and event posts and publish across many listings at once. Posts are unlimited on every plan, which is unusually generous.

2 things make this better than most bulk posting: spintax, which lets you write interchangeable phrasings so each location publishes a variation rather than identical text, and location specific variable substitution, so each post carries the right address, phone number and offer.

Why spintax matters: 40 locations publishing word for word identical posts is visible to anyone who looks, and it is not a signal you want to send. Spintax solves that in 1 field rather than 40 edits.

Step 4: Automate photo uploads

Schedule recurring image and video uploads with metadata, so profiles keep looking active without anyone remembering to upload anything. Seasonal image sets can be queued months ahead.

Step 5: Protect the listings with Attribute Sentry

This is the step most reviews of Local Viking skip entirely, including ours. Google lets third parties suggest edits to a listing, and on a large estate those changes land silently. Attribute Sentry monitors for malicious and unauthorised edits, and Local Viking also sends notifications if a location is suspended. Field and attribute locking sits alongside it, preventing values drifting from what you set.

Being straight about this one. Several of our other reviews present profile protection as something GBPPromote has and competitors do not. Against most of them that is accurate. Against Local Viking it is not. Attribute Sentry does this job and has done for years.

Anyone who has used the tool would spot the claim immediately, so there is no version of this article worth writing that leaves it out.

Step 6: Report, with the timelapse

White label reporting on Pro and above, plus an embeddable GeoGrid widget you can put on your own site.

The feature worth the money here is the GeoGrid timelapse. It replays how the grid changed across successive scans, so a client sees 6 months of work as visibility spreading across a map rather than as a table of numbers. For an agency in a renewal conversation, that is genuinely the most persuasive thing in this tool.

The 4 features nobody mentions

Most reviews of Local Viking, ours included until now, describe it as geo-grid plus scheduling. These 4 are the reason practitioners actually keep it.

GeoGrid timelapseReplays how the grid changed across successive scans, so visibility spreading over an area plays as an animation rather than sitting in a table. In a client renewal meeting this is the single most persuasive artefact in the tool, and almost nothing else in the category has it.
Spintax on postsWrite 1 post with interchangeable phrasings so each location publishes a variation. Bulk posting without it produces 40 word for word identical posts, which is visible to anyone looking. Very little else in this category offers spintax at all.
Attribute SentryMonitors for malicious and unauthorised edits to your listings, with location suspension notifications alongside. This is profile protection, and it is a feature we credit ourselves with against other competitors.
Daisy chaining and variablesAutomatic post daisy chaining plus location specific variable substitution, so each post carries the correct address, phone and offer for that branch without 40 manual edits. Unglamorous, and exactly the kind of thing that saves an agency real hours.

None of these appear in most published reviews of Local Viking. If you are evaluating it, they are the features to test during your first paid month, because they are what you are actually paying the premium for over a plain rank tracker.

Pricing: all 5 plans

Local Viking pricing plans and credit allocations

5 tiers priced by listing count, with unlimited posts on every plan. The curve is uneven, and the entry plan is the one to avoid.

PlanMonthlyListingsKeyword creditsGeoGrid creditsExtras
Single$3911,6007,500No unlimited Google accounts
Starter$59103,2008,100Unlimited accounts
Pro$99205,60016,200White label, GeoGrid widget, scheduled scans
Agency$1494017,70024,300White label and widget
Enterprise$2007026,60032,400White label and widget

Unlimited posts on every plan. Annual billing is around $590 a year for 10 listings. Verified August 2026. One source noted the public pricing page has at times not displayed prices, so confirm directly.

The Single plan is the one to skip. $39 for 1 listing against $59 for 10 is an odd curve. Critics have called it illogical, and it is hard to disagree. For $20 more you get 9 additional listings and unlimited connected Google accounts. If there is any chance you will manage a second location, start at Starter.

Where it becomes good value. Enterprise at $200 for 70 listings works out around $2.86 per listing per month, which is cheaper than almost anything in this category including us. Agency at $149 for 40 is about $3.73.

That is the honest read: Local Viking is expensive at 1 location and genuinely cheap at scale, which is the opposite shape to most tools here.

The missing free trial

There is no free trial and no free tier. Evaluation costs at least 1 month, and the old version of this article never mentioned it.

That matters more here than it would elsewhere, because Local Viking has a learning curve. Reviewers consistently describe the interface as built for specialists, and features like spintax, daisy chaining and attribute locking assume you know why you would want them.

So the sequence is: pay, then learn whether it suits you. For comparison, BrightLocal offers 14 days with no credit card, and several others in this category offer something.

If you are going to trial it anyway, plan the month. Set up 1 client properly, run a GeoGrid scan, schedule a spintax post across several listings, and check Attribute Sentry catches something. Those 4 things test what you are actually paying the premium for, and they can all be done in week 1 rather than discovered in month 3.

What users say, and the pros and cons

Consistent themes: GeoGrid and bulk posting are why people stay. Google API sync problems and the learning curve are the recurring complaints.

What comes up positively

  • GeoGrid tracking and timelapse. The most cited strength, and the reason it appears in client presentations
  • Bulk posting is genuinely advanced. Spintax, daisy chaining and variable substitution together
  • Clean multi-client switching. Moving between accounts is described as easy
  • Attribute Sentry. Valued by anyone who has had a listing edited without permission
  • Value at scale. Enterprise at $200 for 70 listings is around $2.86 each
  • Unlimited posts on every plan. Not metered, unusually

What comes up negatively

  • Google API sync issues. The most common complaint. Disconnects that delay updates reaching the profile
  • Learning curve. Built for specialists, and there is no trial to learn on
  • Support responsiveness. Reviewers report slow replies
  • Credit caps. Keyword and GeoGrid credits limit how much you can scan per tier
  • Scope gaps. No citations, keyword research or review automation, so a second tool is usually needed
  • No free trial. Evaluation costs a month

The pattern is a capable specialist tool with an infrastructure irritation. The API sync issue is the one worth pressing on before you commit, because it affects the core promise. If a scheduled post does not reach the profile, the automation has not saved you anything.

Test this specifically in month 1: schedule a post across several listings, then check each profile manually the next day. If everything published, the sync concern does not apply to your setup. If it did not, you have found it while you can still walk away.

Where it genuinely delivers

  • GeoGrid timelapse. Visibility change as an animation. The most persuasive client facing artefact in this category
  • Spintax posting. Bulk posts that are not identical. Almost nothing else offers it
  • Attribute Sentry. Malicious edit protection plus suspension alerts
  • Daisy chaining and variable substitution. Correct address, phone and offer per location automatically
  • Unlimited posts on every plan. Not metered at any tier
  • Unlimited Google accounts on all plans except Single
  • Cheap at scale. About $2.86 per listing at Enterprise, cheaper than most of this category including us
  • Embeddable GeoGrid widget. Put live rank data on your own site

Things to consider before buying

  • No free trial, no free tier. You pay before you can assess a tool with a real learning curve
  • The Single plan is bad value. $39 for 1 listing against $59 for 10
  • Credit caps per tier. Keyword and GeoGrid credits limit scanning regardless of listing count
  • Google API sync issues. The most cited problem
  • GeoGrid is desktop view only and carries no AI Overview data. A growing limitation
  • No citation tools, keyword research or backlink analysis
  • No review automation. Monitoring only, no requests and no AI replies
  • No store locator, location pages or website builder

The second column is mostly scope rather than failure. Local Viking is a profile specialist layer and has never claimed to be a full local SEO stack. The API sync issue is the one genuine concern, because it undermines the core promise.

Who should use Local Viking in 2026?

Local Viking fits

  • Agencies managing 20 to 70 listings, where per listing cost gets genuinely cheap
  • Anyone posting in bulk who needs spintax and variables
  • Agencies who present GeoGrid timelapse in client meetings
  • Franchises needing Attribute Sentry and attribute locking across an estate
  • Practitioners who want both grid and traditional keyword tracking
  • Anyone needing unlimited connected Google accounts

Look elsewhere if

  • You run 1 location, because $39 for 1 listing is poor value
  • You want to try before paying, because there is no trial
  • You need citations, keyword research or backlink data
  • Review generation or AI replies matter to you
  • You need AI Overview visibility data
  • You are not an SEO specialist, because the learning curve is real
The clearest test: count your listings and ask how often you post. 20 or more listings with weekly posting makes Local Viking cheap and genuinely well suited. 1 listing posting monthly makes it the most expensive way to do a simple job, and there is no trial to discover that on.

All 45 GBPPromote features

GBPPromote dashboard showing Google Business Profile performance across locations
One dashboard across every location, whether that is 1 profile or 400.

The previous version of this article listed 5 GBPPromote features. There are 45. Here they are, grouped by what they are actually for.

The pricing difference, stated plainly. Both price by volume and both get cheaper per location as you scale, so this is not the usual pricing argument. Local Viking is roughly $2.86 per listing at Enterprise. GBPPromote is $5.33 from 8 up. At high listing counts Local Viking is genuinely cheaper, and pretending otherwise would be easy to check.

The real difference is scope. Local Viking is a profile specialist layer: posting, grid tracking, listing protection. GBPPromote adds citations, review generation and AI replies, store locators, location pages and a website builder.

Rank and visibility

7 tools
  • Local rank checker, free, no account
  • Local pack rank tracking, scheduled geo-grid scans
  • Service area business rank tracker, for businesses without a storefront
  • Keyword research, local terms worth ranking for
  • Competitors spy, what rivals changed, not just where they rank
  • AI visibility tracker, your brand across 6 AI search engines
  • Location local rank full report, the complete picture per location

Not a capability gap. Local Viking’s GeoGrid is strong and its timelapse view has no equivalent here. What differs is that every location comes with its own 100 grid credits a month, plus a service area rank tracker, AI visibility tracking and competitor change tracking rather than position only.

Reviews and reputation

10 tools
  • AI review reply, custom prompt, your tone
  • Template auto reply, your own written responses
  • Template auto rotation, so 40 replies never read alike
  • Review request automation, email sequences
  • Centralised reviews management, every location, 1 inbox
  • Review alerts, instant, per rating
  • Review widget, display reviews on your own site
  • Magic QR code, smart review collection
  • Feedback QR and AI QR code, capture before it goes public
  • Survey QR, build with AI, collect by QR, summarise

Template rotation is the one nobody else has. AI replies that all follow the same structure are visible to anyone scrolling your profile. Rotation varies them deliberately, which matters more the more reviews you answer. Local Viking has no review automation at all, only monitoring.

GBPPromote AI review reply with custom prompt and template rotation
AI replies with a prompt you write, plus template rotation so responses vary.

Profile automation

10 tools
  • Auto post, set it once, it keeps running
  • Auto media dripfeed, photos released on a schedule
  • GMB post scheduler, offers, updates, events
  • GMB media scheduler, images and video queued
  • Optimization, find gaps, fix from the audit screen
  • Bulk optimization, apply fixes across every location
  • Bulk update, hours, services, attributes at once
  • Smart tasks, the platform tells you what needs doing
  • Profile protection, catch unwanted third-party edits
  • Brand consistency, flag locations drifting off-brand

READ THE PROFILE PROTECTION LINE CAREFULLY. Local Viking HAS this. Attribute Sentry does malicious edit protection and suspension alerts, and it is a claim we make against other competitors that does not hold here. What differs in this group is auto-posting, optimization scoring, bulk optimization and smart tasks. On posting mechanics specifically, Local Viking’s spintax and daisy chaining are ahead of ours.

Auto-post and media dripfeed keep profiles active without weekly manual work.

Listings and citations

3 tools

Not offered by Local Viking at all. No citation tools, no name and address correction across directories. This is one of the clearer scope gaps and a common reason people run a second subscription alongside it.

Web presence

5 tools

The private media library solves a real operational problem. Getting current photos out of franchisees or store managers is usually a chase. A link they can upload to removes the chase.

Reporting and agency

5 tools

Portfolio reporting is the agency specific one. Not a report per client assembled one at a time, but 1 view across every account you manage.

GBPPromote white label multi-location reporting for agencies
White label reporting across every location, ready to send without editing.

Platform and integrations

5 tools
  • MCP connector, ask Claude or ChatGPT about your locations
  • Google Analytics connector, website traffic alongside profile data
  • Zapier integration, route alerts anywhere
  • Add team members, roles and permissions per location
  • Multi language, replies and content beyond English

No equivalent in Local Viking. The MCP connector lets your own AI assistant read your location data and answer questions in plain language, read-only and scoped to what you authorise. Worth noting the other way round: Local Viking’s embeddable GeoGrid widget puts live rank data on your own site, which we do not offer.

The MCP connector: ask your own AI assistant about your locations in plain language.

The honest summary of that list

45 features is not automatically better than 15. Breadth only counts if you use it, and a single location owner will touch perhaps 10 of these.

Where it matters is what you buy alongside it. Local Viking has no citations, no keyword research and no review automation, so most users run something else too. Price Local Viking plus that second subscription against 1 platform, because at 70 listings Local Viking alone is cheaper than us, and the honest comparison has to include the rest of the stack.

Local Viking vs GBPPromote

Closer than most comparisons in this series. Local Viking wins on posting mechanics and per listing cost at scale. GBPPromote wins on breadth.

There are 8 bolded Local Viking rows here, the most of any comparison in this series. The timelapse, spintax, daisy chaining, Attribute Sentry, attribute locking, the embeddable widget, organic keyword tracking and per listing cost at 70 listings are all genuine advantages.

Attribute Sentry in particular is profile protection, which we credit ourselves with against other competitors and cannot claim here.

Put simply: if your work is posting to a lot of profiles and showing clients a rank map, Local Viking does that better and cheaper at scale. If your work spans reviews, citations and web presence too, you would be buying Local Viking plus something else, and that is the comparison to run.

What each costs at scale

This table does not go our way at the top end, and it should not be read as if it does. Above roughly 20 listings, Local Viking is cheaper per listing.

ListingsLocal Viking planPer listingGBPPromotePer location
1Single $39$39.00$16.00$16.00
5Starter $59$11.80$37.00$7.40
10Starter $59$5.90$53.30$5.33
20Pro $99$4.95$106.60$5.33
40Agency $149$3.73$213.20$5.33
70Enterprise $200$2.86$373.10$5.33

Local Viking monthly rates. Annual is around $590 a year for 10 listings. GBPPromote at $16 for 1, $37 flat for 2 to 7, $5.33 each from 8 up. Credit caps not modelled, because Local Viking’s keyword and GeoGrid credits limit scanning independently of listing count.

Reading this fairly. Local Viking is cheaper per listing from around 20 listings up, and at 70 it is nearly half our rate. That is the honest position and we are not going to bury it. At 70 listings the gap is $200 against $373.

3 things the table cannot capture. Credit caps: GeoGrid and keyword credits limit scanning regardless of how many listings your plan allows. Scope: no citations, no keyword research, no review automation, so most users pay for a second tool. And no trial, so the first month is a paid experiment either way.

The fair summary: at 1 location we are cheaper and we have a trial. At 20 to 70 listings Local Viking is cheaper on plan price, and the question becomes whether the missing scope costs you more than the saving.

Final verdict

Local Viking is a specialist tool that most reviews underrate, and it is genuinely cheap at scale. Our own previous version described it as geo-grid plus post scheduling. That was not wrong so much as incomplete.

The 6 step walkthrough shows a product built by people who have managed a lot of listings: spintax so bulk posts are not identical, variable substitution so each location’s post carries the right details, daisy chaining, attribute locking, Attribute Sentry watching for unauthorised edits, suspension alerts, and a GeoGrid timelapse that turns 6 months of work into something a client actually understands. Attribute Sentry is profile protection, a capability we claim against other competitors and cannot claim here.

The limits are scope and access. No citations, no keyword research, no review automation, and a GeoGrid restricted to desktop view with no AI Overview data. Reviewers report Google API sync problems, which matters because a scheduled post that does not publish has saved you nothing. And there is no free trial, on a tool that needs learning.

Buy Local Viking if you manage 20 or more listings, post to them regularly, and would use spintax, timelapse and Attribute Sentry. At 40 to 70 listings it is cheaper per listing than almost anything, including us.

Choose GBPPromote if you need review generation and AI replies, citations, store locators and web presence alongside the tracking, or if you want to try the tool before paying for it.

This is the closest comparison in the series. If you only manage profile posting and rank reporting, the specialist tool is the better buy. If your work is broader, you would be buying Local Viking plus something else, and that total is the number to compare.

Frequently asked questions

What is Local Viking?
A Google Business Profile management and GeoGrid rank tracking platform for agencies and multi-location businesses. It covers GeoGrid tracking with a timelapse view, bulk post scheduling with spintax and daisy chaining, photo upload automation, bulk location management, Attribute Sentry edit protection, location suspension alerts, review monitoring, and white label reporting plus an embeddable GeoGrid widget on Pro and above.
How much does Local Viking cost?
5 plans: Single at 39 US dollars for 1 listing, Starter at 59 for 10, Pro at 99 for 20 with white label, widget and scheduled scans, Agency at 149 for 40 and Enterprise at 200 for 70. Unlimited posts on every plan, and unlimited Google accounts on all but Single. Annual is around 590 dollars a year for 10 listings. At 70 listings that is about 2.86 dollars each, which is cheaper than most of this category.
Does Local Viking have a free trial?
No. There is no free trial and no free tier, so evaluation means paying for at least the first month. That matters more here than elsewhere because Local Viking has a real learning curve. You pay, then find out. An earlier version of this article never mentioned this at all.
What is Attribute Sentry?
Local Viking’s protection against malicious and unauthorised edits to your Google Business Profile listings, with location suspension notifications alongside. Google lets third parties suggest changes and on a large estate they land silently. This is profile protection, and it is a capability we credit ourselves with against other competitors but cannot claim against Local Viking.
What is spintax in Local Viking?
Spintax lets you write 1 post with interchangeable phrasings so each location publishes a variation rather than identical text. Combined with location specific variable substitution for address, phone and offer, and automatic daisy chaining, bulk posting across 40 profiles does not produce 40 word for word identical posts. Very little else in this category offers spintax at all.
What is the GeoGrid timelapse?
It replays how a geo grid changed across successive scans, so visibility spreading over an area plays as an animation rather than sitting in a table. For an agency demonstrating 6 months of work in a renewal meeting, it is the most persuasive artefact in any tool in this category. Scheduled GeoGrid scans on Pro and above collect the underlying data automatically.
Does Local Viking help with reviews?
It monitors reviews across locations in 1 dashboard and lets you respond, but it does not automate review requests or generate AI replies. If review generation and automated responses are central to your work, that is a real gap and 1 of the clearer differences between Local Viking and platforms built around reputation.
What are the main drawbacks?
No free trial or free tier. The pricing curve is uneven, because 39 dollars for 1 listing against 59 for 10 makes Single poor value. Keyword and GeoGrid credits are capped per plan. The GeoGrid is desktop view only with no AI Overview data. No citation tools, keyword research or backlink analysis. Reviewers report occasional Google API sync issues and slow support.
Is Local Viking beginner friendly?
Not especially. It is built for SEO professionals and agencies, and features like spintax, daisy chaining and attribute locking assume you know why you would want them. Reviewers consistently describe a learning curve for non-specialists, and with no free trial that learning happens after you have paid.
Local Viking or GBPPromote, which should I choose?
Local Viking if GeoGrid timelapse, spintax posting and Attribute Sentry are what you need, and you manage 20 or more listings. At 70 listings it is about 2.86 dollars each against our 5.33, so it is genuinely cheaper at scale. GBPPromote if you need review generation and AI replies, citations, store locators and web presence, or a free trial.
Is Local Viking worth it in 2026?
Yes, for an agency or practitioner whose work centres on profile posting and rank visualisation across 20 or more listings, and who will use spintax, timelapse and Attribute Sentry. Poor value at 1 listing, where 39 dollars buys very little, or if you need citations, keyword research or review automation, none of which are included. And there is no trial to find out on.

On the URL. The live version of this content sits at /local-falcon-review/ with a Local Falcon title and meta description, while every word of the article is about Local Viking. Those are 2 different products. This build is written for /local-viking-review/, and the Falcon URL needs either a 301 or a genuine Local Falcon review.

On the numbers. Plan prices, listing counts and credit allocations were verified August 2026. One source noted the public pricing page has at times not displayed prices at all, so confirm directly before publishing. No star rating appears on this page and none is in the schema.

On our bias. GBPPromote competes with Local Viking. This review bolds 8 rows where Local Viking is better, states that it is cheaper per listing from about 20 listings up, and names a profile protection claim we make elsewhere on this site that does not hold against Attribute Sentry.
