Local Dominator Review 2026: Pricing, Features, Pros and Cons
It does 1 thing better than most of the category: geo-grid rank tracking that shows Maps position street by street. The catch is that the plan price is not the price, because credits are consumed per grid point.

Verified August 2026. No star rating appears anywhere on this page, and none is in the schema. An earlier version gave Local Dominator 4.2 out of 5 and GBPPromote 4.9, with nothing behind either number, and wrapped the 4.2 in Review schema so search engines would treat it as a verdict. Both are gone, and this time the score box is gone with them.
Local Dominator does 1 thing better than most of the category: geo-grid rank tracking that shows Maps position street by street, with competitor overlays added in the v1.5 update. If that data is what you are buying, it delivers, and it is priced well below the enterprise tools. The catch is that the plan price is not the price. Credits are consumed per grid point, so real cost tracks scan frequency rather than the headline figure, and the AI Tracker and Citations Builder are chargeable add-ons on top of every tier.
What is Local Dominator?

A local SEO platform built around Google Maps geo-grid rank tracking. It scans a grid of points and plots your Maps position at each one as a heatmap. Around that core it adds SERP tracking, AI Overview monitoring, profile management and white label reporting.
Google Maps rankings are not 1 number. A plumber can sit at position 1 outside their own front door and vanish from the top 10 about 4 miles away, and a single city-wide “you rank 3rd” tells you nothing about which of those is true. That gap between reported rank and actual visibility is the problem geo-grid tools exist to solve.
- Geo-grid heatmaps. Maps position plotted per grid point, with competitor overlays since v1.5
- SERP Tracker. Traditional organic rank tracking, with campaign limits by plan
- AI Tracker. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. A paid add-on
- Profile management. Schedule posts, upload media, respond to reviews, publish Q and A
- Citations Builder. Also a paid add-on, metered separately
- White label reporting, unlimited team members, credit rollover on Pro and above
- Integrations. Google Data Studio, Google Maps, HighLevel and Make
How Local Dominator works: a 7 step walkthrough
The sequence is short and scan led: connect a profile, define the grid, set keywords, scan, read the heatmap, act, repeat. Everything else in the product hangs off that loop.
Step 1: Connect a Google Business Profile
You link the profile you want tracked. Your plan caps how many connections you get: 1 on Lite, 15 on Advance, 25 on Pro, 80 on Powerhouse, 200 on Enterprise. That cap is usually the deciding factor in which tier you land on, rather than the credit count.
Watch the Lite plan here. 1 profile connection means 1 business. If you manage even 2 locations, Lite is not an option regardless of how few scans you plan to run.
Step 2: Define the grid
You set the geographic area and the grid density, meaning how many points across and down. A 9 by 9 grid is the common default, giving 81 sample points across the area you care about.
Grid size is the single biggest cost lever in the product, because 1 credit is consumed per data point. A denser grid gives sharper detail and costs proportionally more. This is where most people either overspend or underscan.
Step 3: Add keywords
Keywords are unlimited on every plan, which is genuinely generous and unusual in this category. What is not unlimited is scans. Each keyword scanned across the grid consumes its own credits, so unlimited keywords means unlimited to define, not unlimited to track.
For example: tracking 5 keywords on a 9 by 9 grid is 405 credits per scan round. On Lite’s 5,000 credits that is roughly 12 rounds a month, or about 3 a week.
Step 4: Run the scan
Local Dominator checks your Maps position from each point in the grid. Scans can be run manually or scheduled, and scheduling is what makes the data useful. A single scan is a snapshot. A scheduled series is a trend.
Step 5: Read the heatmap
The output is a colour coded map: strong where you rank, weak where you do not. This is the part reviewers consistently praise, because it turns an abstract ranking question into something a business owner understands in about 2 seconds.
The v1.5 update added competitor overlays. You can click any pin and see the rank gap between you and the top competitor at that specific point, which is a meaningful step up from knowing only your own position and the strongest recent improvement to the product.
Step 6: Act on what the map shows
From the same dashboard you can schedule posts, upload media, respond to reviews and publish Q and A content. So the loop closes inside 1 tool rather than sending you elsewhere to act on what you just found.
Citation building and AI Overview tracking also live here, but both are chargeable add-ons rather than plan features. Worth knowing before you assume they are included.
Step 7: Report and repeat
The scan analyser produces automated reporting, and white label output lets agencies send it under their own branding. Unlimited team members means you are not paying per seat to give staff access.
Then you rescan. How often you can afford to is a credit question, which is the section after pricing, and the thing most reviews of this product skip.
Pricing: all 5 plans

5 credit based tiers from $39 to $399 a month. The plan price is not the real price. Credits and 2 paid add-ons decide that, and most reviews of this tool stop at the headline figure.
| Plan | Monthly | First month | Credits | Profile connections | About 9×9 scans |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $39 | $1.95 | 5,000 | 1 | about 60 |
| Advance | $59 | $2.95 | 15,000 | 15 | about 185 |
| Pro | $97 | $4.85 | 36,000 | 25 | about 444 |
| Powerhouse | $197 | not offered | 81,000 | 80 | about 1,000 |
| Enterprise | $399 | not offered | Highest | 200 | not published |
Verified August 2026 against Local Dominator’s published plan comparison, G2 and Capterra. Vendors change pricing, so confirm before purchasing.
The 2 add-ons that are not in those numbers
| Add-on | Cost | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| AI Tracker | about $49 per site | Monitors how your business appears in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, benchmarked against competitors. Charged on every tier |
| Citations Builder | Metered | Automated citation building. Also charged separately rather than included in any plan |
Both are genuinely useful, and the AI Tracker in particular is ahead of most of the category. But they change the maths: Advance at $59 with the AI Tracker on 1 site is $108 a month, which is a different comparison from $59.
How credits actually work
One credit per grid data point. A 9 by 9 scan costs 81 credits. Everything about budgeting this tool follows from that single sentence, and it is the part most reviews skip.
| Setup | Credits per scan round | Rounds on Lite, 5,000 | Rounds on Advance, 15,000 | Rounds on Pro, 36,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 keyword, 9×9 | 81 | about 61 | about 185 | about 444 |
| 5 keywords, 9×9 | 405 | about 12 | about 37 | about 88 |
| 10 keywords, 9×9 | 810 | about 6 | about 18 | about 44 |
| 5 keywords, 13×13 | 845 | about 5 | about 17 | about 42 |
Calculated from Local Dominator’s stated model of 1 credit per grid data point. Figures are indicative.
Read the second row carefully, because it is the realistic one. 5 keywords on a standard grid gives you about 3 scan rounds a week on Lite, and roughly 1 a day on Advance. For a single business tracking a handful of terms that is plenty. For an agency scanning 20 client locations weekly, the credit maths, not the connection cap, becomes the binding constraint.
Credit rollover is a real advantage. On Pro and above, unused credits roll over month to month. That materially softens the main weakness of credit pricing, because a quiet month is no longer money burned, and it is a genuine reason to skip Advance and go to Pro if your scanning is uneven.
Ratings and where it is listed
Local Dominator is listed on the major software directories, but public review volume is thin compared with the bigger platforms. That is worth knowing before you weight any score heavily.
| Source | What it carries | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Capterra | Full product profile | Carries the complete plan structure and feature list, and is where the 5 tier pricing above was cross-checked. Check current review volume directly |
| G2 | Pricing page published | Publishes the plan detail including credits, connections and SERP campaign limits per tier |
| GetApp | Feature profile | Describes the AI visibility tracker, white label reporting, unlimited team members and the credit rollover system |
| Our score | None given | We build a competing product. Assigning Local Dominator a number out of 5 would be our opinion dressed as data |
Directory listings confirmed August 2026. Review counts and scores move, so check each platform directly rather than relying on any figure quoted in a review article, including this one.
Both are gone, and the score box at the top has gone with them. Scoring a competitor’s product out of 5 when you sell the alternative is not analysis, and a reader who spots 1 invented number stops believing the sourced ones next to it.
What users say, and the pros and cons
The themes are consistent across directories and independent reviews: the heatmaps are the reason people stay, and the credit system is the reason they hesitate.
What comes up positively
- Heatmap clarity. The most consistent theme by far. The visual makes ranking data immediately legible
- Competitor overlays. The v1.5 addition is well received, since seeing the gap beats seeing only your own position
- Value against rivals. Positioned as materially cheaper than comparable rank trackers, and reviewers broadly agree
- Unlimited keywords. Genuinely unusual, and appreciated
- Credit rollover. On Pro and above, cited as removing the use it or lose it pressure
What comes up negatively
- Credit confusion. The most common complaint. Working out what 5,000 credits buys is not obvious at purchase
- Learning curve. The dashboard is data dense and reviewers describe needing time with it
- Tight SERP limits on lower tiers. 1 campaign on Lite is restrictive if SERP tracking matters to you
- Add-ons on top. AI Tracker and Citations charged separately on every plan
- No trial. A discounted first month is the only way to evaluate it
Read together, the pattern is a tool that does its core job well and prices it in a way that makes buyers uneasy. That is a fixable problem for Local Dominator and a real one for you, because it means the evaluation work sits with you before purchase rather than after.
Where it genuinely delivers
- Street level heatmaps. The reason to buy it, and it does this well
- Competitor overlays since v1.5. Click a pin, see the gap. A real improvement
- SERP tracking alongside Maps. Organic and local in 1 tool, which most geo-grid products do not offer
- AI Overview monitoring. Via the AI Tracker add-on, ahead of most of the category
- Unlimited keywords on every plan. Unusual and generous
- Credit rollover on Pro and above. Softens the main weakness of credit pricing
- Unlimited team members. No per seat charging, which matters for agencies
- Scales to 200 profiles. Enterprise at $399 is priced well for that connection count
Things to consider before buying
- Real cost is unpredictable. The plan price tells you little. Scan volume decides the bill
- Hard to quote clients. “It depends how often we scan” is not a number a retainer can be built on
- No free trial. A 95 percent first month discount is cheap, but you are a paying customer from day 1
- 2 add-ons on every tier. AI Tracker at around $49 per site and metered Citations
- Lite connects 1 profile. The cheap tier is single business only, whatever your scan needs
- Tight SERP campaign limits. 1 campaign on Lite, 3 on Advance
- Measurement first, management second. Profile management exists but is not the depth of a dedicated platform
- No store locator, website builder, location pages or profile protection
None of this makes it a bad tool. It makes it a specific one, and the mismatch to avoid is buying it expecting a full profile management platform and discovering you bought an excellent scanner.
Who should use Local Dominator in 2026?
Local Dominator fits
- Agencies where geo-grid reporting is the deliverable
- Local SEOs who want street level data cheaply
- Anyone who needs SERP and Maps tracking in 1 tool
- Teams wanting AI Overview monitoring and willing to pay the add-on
- Users with uneven scanning patterns who benefit from credit rollover
- Agencies needing many seats, because team members are unlimited
- Large agencies at Enterprise: 200 profiles for $399 is competitive
Look elsewhere if
- You need a predictable monthly number to quote clients
- You want to try before paying, because there is no trial
- Profile management, not measurement, is your real workload
- You need citations included rather than metered
- You want a store locator, location pages or a website builder
- You want profile protection against third-party edits
- You scan infrequently, because you would pay for credits you never use
Local Falcon is the tool it gets weighed against most often. Local Falcon vs Local Dominator puts the two side by side.
All 45 GBPPromote features

The previous version of this article listed 5 GBPPromote features, which undersold it considerably. There are 45. Here they are, grouped by what they are actually for.
What flat pricing buys you is a number you can quote. An agency putting a retainer in front of a client can say what the tooling costs without modelling scan frequency first.
Rank and visibility
7 tools- Local rank checker, free, no account
- Local pack rank tracking, scheduled geo-grid scans
- Service area business rank tracker, for businesses without a storefront
- Keyword research, local terms worth ranking for
- Competitors spy, what rivals changed, not just where they rank
- AI visibility tracker, your brand across 6 AI search engines
- Location local rank full report, the complete picture per location
Where this differs: Local Dominator does geo-grid well, and its v1.5 competitor overlays are genuinely good. The difference is that these scans are not metered against a credit balance, and a rank tracker built for service area businesses is included rather than absent.

Reviews and reputation
10 tools- AI review reply, custom prompt, your tone
- Template auto reply, your own written responses
- Template auto rotation, so 40 replies never read alike
- Review request automation, email sequences
- Centralised reviews management, every location, 1 inbox
- Review alerts, instant, per rating
- Review widget, display reviews on your own site
- Magic QR code, smart review collection
- Feedback QR and AI QR code, capture before it goes public
- Survey QR, build with AI, collect by QR, summarise
Template rotation is the one nobody else has. AI replies that all follow the same structure are visible to anyone scrolling your profile. Rotation varies them deliberately, which matters more the more reviews you answer.

Profile automation
10 tools- Auto post, set it once, it keeps running
- Auto media dripfeed, photos released on a schedule
- GMB post scheduler, offers, updates, events
- GMB media scheduler, images and video queued
- Optimization, find gaps, fix from the audit screen
- Bulk optimization, apply fixes across every location
- Bulk update, hours, services, attributes at once
- Smart tasks, the platform tells you what needs doing
- Profile protection, catch unwanted third-party edits
- Brand consistency, flag locations drifting off-brand
Profile protection has no equivalent in Local Dominator. Google lets third parties suggest edits to your listing. On a multi-location estate those changes land silently, and finding them by hand is not realistic. Local Dominator does schedule posts, upload media, respond to reviews and publish Q and A, which an earlier version of this article wrongly said it did not.

Listings and citations
3 tools- Citation management, build and fix across 100 or more directories
- Boost citation, accelerate distribution
- Local business schema, structured data for your own site
Included, not metered. Local Dominator charges its Citations Builder as a separate add-on on top of every plan.
Web presence
5 tools- Store locator, embed a find-a-store map
- 1-click website builder, a local site from your profile
- AI location pages, an indexable page per location
- Multi social media scheduling, beyond Google Posts
- Private media library, customers upload photos via a link
The private media library solves a real operational problem. Getting current photos out of franchisees or store managers is usually a chase. A link they can upload to removes the chase.
Reporting and agency
5 tools- Local SEO reporting tool, client-ready, white label
- Multi location report, the whole estate
- Portfolio report, every client in 1 view
- Location trend report, movement over time
- GMB audit tool, agency pitching and onboarding
Portfolio reporting is the agency specific one. Not a report per client assembled one at a time, but 1 view across every account you manage.

Platform and integrations
5 tools- MCP connector, ask Claude or ChatGPT about your locations
- Google Analytics connector, website traffic alongside profile data
- Zapier integration, route alerts anywhere
- Add team members, roles and permissions per location
- Multi language, replies and content beyond English
The MCP connector has no equivalent here. It lets your own AI assistant read your location data directly and answer questions in plain language, read-only and scoped to what you authorise. Worth noting the other way round: Local Dominator’s AI Tracker monitors AI Overviews and generative search, which is a genuine strength, though it is a paid add-on at around $49 per site.

The honest summary of that list
45 features is not automatically better than 15. Breadth only counts if you use it, and a single location owner will touch perhaps 10 of these.
Where it matters is scope overlap. Local Dominator plus a citations add-on plus an AI tracker add-on plus a store locator plus a website builder is 1 subscription and 3 extra line items. That is the comparison worth making, not feature counts, but how many separate charges each option collapses into 1.
Local Dominator vs GBPPromote
2 different pricing philosophies before they are 2 different products. Local Dominator sells capacity. GBPPromote sells locations. Which suits you depends on how much you scan.
| Area | Local Dominator | GBPPromote |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Credit based, 5 tiers $39 to $399 | Flat per location, 100 grid credits each |
| Price | $39 for 1 profile to $399 for 200 | $16 for 1, $37 flat 2 to 7, $5.33 from 8 |
| Free trial | None, a 95 percent first month discount | 3 days, no card required |
| Geo-grid rank tracking | Yes, the core product, with v1.5 competitor overlays | Yes, scheduled, 100 credits a location |
| Scan limits | Credit capped, 1 credit per grid point | 100 credits a location monthly, 1 per grid point |
| SERP organic tracking | Yes, campaign limits by tier | Not offered |
| AI search visibility | AI Tracker: AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, about $49 per site | AI visibility checker included |
| Credit rollover | Yes, on Pro and above | Not applicable |
| Citations | Citations Builder, metered add-on | Included, 100 or more directories |
| Review automation | Review responses from dashboard | AI replies with custom prompt, template rotation, auto-post by star rating |
| Review requests | Not a core feature | SMS, WhatsApp, email and QR |
| Profile protection | Not offered | Catches third-party edit suggestions |
| Store locator and location pages | Not offered | Included |
| Website builder | Not offered | 1-click builder included |
| AI assistant connector | Not offered | Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your locations |
| Team members | Unlimited on all plans | Roles and permissions per location |
| Integrations | Data Studio, HighLevel, Make, Google Maps | Zapier, Google Analytics, MCP |
Put simply: an agency whose product is a monthly ranking report will get more from Local Dominator. An agency whose product is “we manage your profiles” will get more from GBPPromote. Those are different businesses, and neither tool is wrong for the other one’s buyer.
What each costs at scale
The honest version, and it does not all go our way. On plan price alone Local Dominator is cheaper from 25 locations up. What that figure excludes is the point.
| Locations | Local Dominator plan | Plus AI Tracker, 1 site | GBPPromote, all in |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lite $39 | $88 | $16.00 |
| 5 | Advance $59 | $108 | $37.00 |
| 10 | Advance $59 | $108 | $53.30 |
| 25 | Pro $97 | $146 | $133.25 |
| 50 | Powerhouse $197 | $246 | $266.50 |
| 100 | Enterprise $399 | $448 | $533.00 |
The Local Dominator column shows the cheapest tier whose connection cap covers that count, before checking credit sufficiency and before metered citations. AI Tracker shown for a single site at the reported rate. Multiple sites multiply.
3 things the plan column does not include. Credit sufficiency: 81,000 credits across 50 locations at 5 keywords each is roughly 4 scan rounds a month, so heavier scanning needs a higher tier or more spend. Add-ons: the AI Tracker is per site, so at 50 sites it is not $49. And everything after measurement: citations, store locator, location pages, website builder, review requests, profile protection and brand consistency are either metered or absent.
Price the stack you will actually run, not the 2 headline numbers. That is the only comparison that survives contact with an invoice.
Final verdict
Local Dominator is a very good geo-grid tool with a pricing model that asks a lot of the buyer. The 7 step walkthrough shows a clean, focused product: connect a profile, define a grid, scan, read a heatmap that makes ranking legible in seconds, then act on it from the same dashboard. The v1.5 competitor overlays are the best recent addition in this part of the category.
It also does more than its reputation suggests, and more than we previously credited it with. SERP tracking, AI Overview monitoring, post and media scheduling, review responses and Q and A publishing are all there. Our earlier review said it offered no review automation. That was wrong, and correcting it matters more to us than the point it was making.
The problems are commercial rather than technical. Credits make the real cost a function of behaviour rather than a number on a page. There is no free trial, only a discounted first month. And 2 add-ons sit on top of every plan, 1 of which is charged per site.
Buy Local Dominator if measurement is the deliverable, you can predict your scan volume, and SERP or AI Overview tracking matters to your reporting.
Choose GBPPromote if you want a flat number you can quote, citations and store locators and location pages included rather than metered or absent, review generation across 4 channels, profile protection, and a free trial before you commit anything.
Do not pick on the headline price. Pick on which model matches how you actually work, and then check the invoice at month 3 against what you expected on day 1.

Run a free geo-grid scan before you commit to anything
See where your locations rank across their whole catchment, not just at the shopfront. No account, no card, no credit balance to watch. Then decide which pricing model suits how you actually work.
$16 for 1 location, $37 flat for 2 to 7, $5.33 each from 8 up. Every feature included, 100 grid credits a location
On the numbers. Plan prices, credit allocations and connection caps were verified August 2026 against Local Dominator’s published plan comparison, G2 and Capterra. The credit model of 1 credit per grid data point is the claim the whole cost analysis rests on, so confirm it directly. AI Tracker pricing of about $49 per site is reported rather than published.
On the missing stars. An earlier version of this article gave Local Dominator 4.2 out of 5 and GBPPromote 4.9, with nothing behind either number, and wrapped the 4.2 in Review schema so search engines would treat it as a verdict. Both are gone, the score box at the top has gone with them, and there is no Review or aggregateRating schema on this page.
On our bias. GBPPromote competes with Local Dominator. An earlier version of this article got several things wrong in our own favour, including claiming it had no review automation. Those are corrected and marked. This page also states plainly that on plan price alone Local Dominator is cheaper from 25 locations up.
