Google Tests ‘Track Price Changes’ Option in Local Hotel Listings

Google is now testing a new feature that allows users to track hotel price changes by email directly from local search results. This feature lets travelers stay updated on price fluctuations without having to revisit the search repeatedly.

Interestingly, Google had announced a similar feature back in March, but this time it’s showing up in the local hotel pack results in core search, not just within Maps or the Hotels section.

This update was first spotted by Ethan H., who shared the finding on LinkedIn. He mentioned that “this feature was just added to the metasearch section of their GMB listings, not only the maps/hotels section.” Ethan also added that his team monitors these listings daily, which is how they caught the new test early.

A screenshot shared by Ethan shows the “Track Price” button appearing next to hotel listings, allowing users to opt-in for email alerts on rate changes. This feature could be a big help for travelers looking for the best deal on accommodations.

Price with fees

Google’s move indicates its continued focus on enhancing the travel search experience by providing more interactive and user-friendly tools.
