Google is testing a new AI Mode History button within local business profiles in Google Search. This button appears below the usual “Call” and “Directions” options when you view a specific business listing.
At first glance, it looks like an unusual update or maybe even a glitch. SEO expert Brad Brewer shared a screenshot of this feature on X (see post here). He mentioned that clicking the button either opens an “AI Mode” that triggers a history prompt or expands an “AI Overview.”
This test has caught the attention of many in the SEO community. Some believe Google could be experimenting with AI-based insights in local panels, while others, including Anthony Higman, think it might just be a display bug.
Right now, Google has not shared any official details. It is still unclear if the AI Mode History button is part of a future update or just a temporary glitch in testing.
