Google Local Service Ads Pull Rich Content From URLs

Google has started emailing some Local Services Ads advertisers about a new update that could change how ad content is created. With this feature, Google may use the website URLs added to your Local Services Ads account to automatically pull rich content for your ads.

This rich content can include business descriptions, service descriptions, special offers, pricing details, and discounts. As a result, advertisers may start seeing more website-based content appear directly in their Local Services Ads.

According to the email shared by Anthony Higman on X, Google said: “Local Services Ads will soon begin using the web URLs identified in your Local Services Ads account to generate content like business and service descriptions, special offers, pricing information, and discounts for your ads.”

Google also explained that advertisers who want to use this feature should make sure their Local Services Ads account is fully updated and includes their website URL.

To check this, go to Account > Profile & Budget > Website in your Local Services Ads dashboard.

On the other hand, advertisers who do not want Google to create new ad content from their website can remove their website URL from the same section. This gives businesses some control over how much website content is used inside their ads.

Anthony Higman’s post also includes a screenshot of the email sent by Google, which gives more context about how this update may work.

Because of that, keeping your website content clear, accurate, and up to date may become even more important for Local Services Ads performance.
