Over the past few months, many businesses noticed a serious issue where reviews were disappearing from their Google Business Profile listings. Although the problem did not affect every business, it was widespread enough to cause concern across the local SEO community. Asking again is the only way to rebuild a count, and therapy is a field where the wording has to stay careful. These review requests for therapists stay on the right side of that. Not every missing review traces back to this bug. If yours are still gone, check the other reasons Google reviews go missing.
Recently, there has been good news. Google has confirmed that this review disappearance bug has now been fixed, and missing reviews should begin returning.
This update was shared by Joy Hawkins, who posted on X confirming the fix:
If you were victim of the recent missing review bug, Google just confirmed that it should be fixed now.

She stated that if your business was affected by the missing reviews bug, Google has confirmed the issue should now be resolved.
At the same time, there were many complaint threads posted in the Google Business Profile Help Forums. Most of these reports were later merged into one large discussion.
After reviewing several of these cases, it appears that many businesses are now seeing their review counts return to normal. For example, one business dropped from around 600 reviews to about 460 during the bug. After the fix, the review count has gone back up to nearly 600.
That said, not every business has seen all missing reviews return yet. In some cases, missing reviews may be related to other issues and not directly tied to this bug.
Overall, Google has confirmed that the review disappearance issue, which lasted for nearly two months, has been resolved. Businesses should continue monitoring their profiles over the next few days to ensure their review counts stabilize.
