Google AI Overviews Now Highlight Individual Google Reviews

Google is now using individual reviews from Google Business Profile listings in its AI Overviews. When you search for reviews about a specific doctor or business, you might see Google showcasing these reviews directly within the AI-generated results. That makes a reply worth writing, so it stings when you cannot post one. If the box is missing on your listing, start with why the reply box disappears. That makes it worth knowing what your own review list looks like right now. You can sort your reviews by star rating and read the 1-star ones first. If single reviews can show up in search results, it helps to know which ones are new. You can sort your reviews by date to see what came in recently.

This update was first spotted by Matt Smith, who shared on X that Google is now featuring its own reviews in AI Overviews. He noted that while searching for “Robert Adelson MD reviews,” he consistently saw Google pulling in reviews from the doctor’s profile.

Andy Simpson responded by confirming this, saying it is “most definitely yes.” He also shared reviews from the doctor’s Google Business listing:

This feature makes it clear that Google reviews are becoming even more valuable for local businesses. The reviews displayed in AI Overviews are directly taken from the Google Business Profile review section, giving users a quick and trusted summary of customer experiences.

For business owners, this is another reason to focus on getting high-quality reviews, as they now play a bigger role in search visibility.
