Google Ads Adds New ‘Maps Pin Clicks’ Metric in Reports

Google has started rolling out a new reporting metric in Google Ads and Local Service Ads called “Maps Pin Clicks.” This new addition helps advertisers track how often users click directly on their business’s map pin, giving better insight into local engagement and customer behavior.

You can find this data in your Campaigns view by selecting Segment > Click Type. Some advertisers are also seeing another new metric called “Show Nearby Locations.”

So, two new metrics are now appearing in reports:
1️⃣ Maps Pin Clicks – Tracks how many times users interact with your map location pin.
2️⃣ Show Nearby Locations – Shows when Google displays nearby business options to users.

This update was first spotted by Red Lead Web Design on X, who shared screenshots highlighting both metrics.

Later, Anthony Higman also confirmed seeing the same features and shared his own screenshot.

These new insights are designed to help advertisers understand how local interactions impact ad performance and make it easier to measure real-world engagement directly from Google Maps.
