Earlier this year, in March, Google introduced a feature that lets businesses request reviews by sharing a link or QR code with customers. Now, Google has added a dedicated help page that explains how to use this feature properly and effectively. More review requests mean more replies to write. A review response tool is what stops that side piling up.
Google published the new help page. According to Google, this feature is designed to make it easier for customers to leave reviews on a Google Business Profile. Businesses can encourage customers to use the review link or QR code in several simple ways, such as:
- Including it on receipts
- Adding it to thank you emails
- Sharing it at the end of a chat conversation
- Printing and displaying the QR code inside the store
At the same time, Google clearly reminded businesses that reviews must always be genuine. Reviews on Google Maps must reflect real customer experiences. Offering incentives like discounts, free products, or services in exchange for reviews is strictly prohibited. This also applies to changing reviews or trying to remove negative ones. Google recommends reviewing Business Profile restrictions to avoid policy violations.
How to share the review link or QR code?
- Google also outlined the steps to access and share this feature:
- Go to your Business Profile
- Select Read Reviews and then Get more reviews
- Share the review link or QR code directly, or choose other sharing options
- To copy the link, select Copy
- To download the QR code, right-click on it and choose Save image as

So while the feature itself is not new, the help documentation is. The update was also highlighted by Hiroko Imai, who shared it on LinkedIn.
Overall, this new help page gives businesses clearer guidance on how to request reviews correctly while staying within Google’s policies.
